Premio Booker

The heavily favorited Barnes took home the prestigious British literary award tonight for his short novel The Sense of Ending; it was his fourth book to be short-listed for the prize and his first victory. The run-up to this year's Booker was unusually contentious, with many in the literary community taking issue over the judging panel's perceived emphasis on "readability." Luckily, Barnes is the type of guy who refers to the Booker as "posh bingo," so he probably wasn't paying attention, and now he gets to go home with a fancy trophy. Congrats, Jules! Enjoy.
